Bible Study: Parables of the Kingdom

Some of the most memorable teachings of Jesus were delivered as parables and are found in the Gospels. This study will acquaint participants the important characteristics of a parable, and how Jesus used familiar images and common experiences to challenge audiences to see things in a new way. We will look at parables found in Mark's Gospel, where the disciples are a privileged audience to Jesus' private explanations of the parables, and then how Matthew uses the same parables but gives them a slightly different twist.

Classes will meet for 6 sessions on Mondays, either 9AM or 7PM.

Sessions are:

January 13, 20, 27

February 3, 17, 24

(no class on Feb 10th – Parish Mission)

Please contact Sandy Staton to register at , or 317-842-6778, ext 240.

This is a continuation of the Fall 2013 study, but you do not have to

have attended Part 1 to be included. Everyone is welcome!
