This year marks the 10th anniversary for assisting area families in providing a Thanksgiving meal. Sally Burton started this ministry and it was her goal to deliver 1,000 food baskets this year. Let's honor Sally and her dedication to serving those in need by reaching this goal!
Below is information pertaining to donations (both monetary and food baskets), and to volunteers who are helping on both Friday, November 16th, 2012 and Saturday, November 17th, 2012

DONATIONS

Thanksgiving Basket Donations
Please check and see what drop off time you have selected: 8:00, 9:00, or 10:00 AM. If a time is not indicated, just bring your basket to Craig Willy Hall as close to 8:00 AM as possible.
Please drive around the south side of the Parish Office, into the school parking lot. Follow the curb around to the south side of Craig Willy Hall and there will be volunteers there to unload the basket from your car.
If you have also signed up to donate and to be a driver to deliver baskets, please keep your basket in your car. You will need to park in the parking lot in front of Craig Willy Hall and come into the Hall to get your additional baskets, maps, instructions, etc.
If it is absolutely impossible for you to deliver your basket to SLDM on Saturday, November 20th, we are offering an early drop off on Friday, November 20th from 5:00pm-7:30pm. We do not have much space to store the turkeys, so please only use these early drop off times if absolutely necessary.
Below is a listing of the items that should be in your basket. The Good Samaritan Network, which is the organization we work with every year, has asked us to deliver the majority of our baskets to an extremely needy area of Hamilton county. We have listed a few additional items that can help a family out with more food items. It is up to you how you want to complete your basket. Your "basket" can simply be grocery sacks (but each sack needs to have your last name written on it) or it can be a Rubbermaid tote or laundry basket. These work great and the recipients can put them to good use.

VOLUNTEERS ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 16TH
You need to report to Craig Willy Hall by 6:00pm. Please wear durable warm clothing as you will be unloading the food truck, setting up boxes, etc. If you have a large tape gun and box tape, please bring it with you.
VOLUNTEERS ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17TH
If you are volunteering other than a driver, please report to Craig Willy Hall by 7:00am. Please wear durable warm clothing as you will be filling baskets, unloading cars with baskets, loading cars with baskets. Etc. ALL STUDENTS VOLUNTEERING FOR SERVICE HOURS MUST SIGN-IN AND SIGN-OUT TO GET YOUR HOURS.
Drivers
Check the attached list to see if you are driving at 8:30am, 9:30am or 10:30am. We need you to come into to Craig Willy Hall at that time and report to the driver table. There will be a brief meeting with instructions. At this point, we have 525+ baskets to deliver. With the number of drivers we have so far, that averages out to about 7 baskets per driver. We know that some of you will not be able to deliver this many baskets due to the size of your vehicle; some of you will be able to deliver more. We will only give you the amount of baskets your car can handle.
