Language Instruction

Spanish Classes - once a week for 1st through 4th grades; twice a week for 5th grade; three times a week for 6th grade; and each day for 7th and 8th grades; our students often test out of first-year Spanish their Freshman year.

Community Service

Over 3,500 service hours per year are completed by students in grades five through eight as a required part of the curriculum.  Many students exceed the required number of service hours—and, all our students participate in community service simply as part of being a Cardinal at SLDM.  All our students support our food pantry, actively participate in food and clothing drives for the less fortunate, pray for and collect toys for children at Peyton Manning’s Hospital at St. Vincent.
