Fruitful Harvest

As many of our priests grow older and become eligible for retirement, the need for priest will increase substantially in our diocese and the United States. We are fortunate in the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana to have 20 men in the seminarian program all committed to a life of pastoral care (the cost to support and educate one seminarian student to ordination has risen to approximately $250,000.00). Our support to the diocese is critical to this effort and many others programs that the diocese provide us. The Fruitful Harvest Stewards of Christ, Sharing our Gift campaign is the way in which parishioners give financially to make this happen.

Last month you heard Steve Seitz speak about the biennial Fruitful Harvest appeal. Every other year, we as a parish are asked to support this campaign with a pledge payable over 20 months starting in January of 2017 and ending August of 2018. Your support helps fund many programs we use as a parish and outreach to those locally and around the world. Being almost a 2 year campaign, we ask that you make a gift reflecting 1% of your income for the next 20 months. Our goal for this campaign is $457,567.00 and anything over that amount comes directly back to us and our parish school.

Please consider a gift to this important appeal. Please return your pledge card to the offertory basket on the weekend or drop it off at the parish office or mail (if you need a card they are available in the Narthex or contact the parish office to have one mailed to you). If you have any questions about Fruitful Harvest please feel free to contact Fr. Pat or Scott Bernhardt at sbernhardt@sldmfishers.org .

Thank you.
