Rescue is a multi-week event of great meals, great conversation and answers to life’s tough questions. Fr. Riccardo and the team at ACTS XXIX have formulated a plan to bring people together to discuss these questions and how our Faith provides answers to those questions.
Food – Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick catch-up over coffee and appitizers, food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Rescue. We start with food, because it’s a great way to encourage community and get to know each other.
Video – The videos are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Generally twenty minutes long, they explore the big issues around life and unpack some important questions many people want answered.
Conversation – Probably the most important part of any Rescue evening is the chance to share thoughts and ideas to discuss in a small group. It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
When: Rescue begins at 6:30PM in the Ministry Center and meets on Mondays from September 26th to November 14th. You can attend as many or few Mondays that you choose to.
Apologies, but Childcare is not provided.
If you would like to donate to Rescue you can do so here.
Acts XXIX passionately believe that the most urgent evangelistic task is the compelling proclamation of the gospel in such a way that people are overwhelmed and brought to a decision to entrust themselves to Jesus Christ. This task is all the more urgent with every passing day.
What is the gospel?
St. Paul tells us the gospel is the power of God for salvation. In other words, it’s not just news, let alone ordinary news. The gospel is the explosive, extraordinary, and life-changing news of Jesus’ defeat of the power of Sin and Death. It’s the news that gives hope!
ACTS XXIX has traveled across the nation the past few years, they have witnessed the overwhelming impact the gospel is having on everyone who hears it. People are hungry for truly good news and for an understanding of the mission that God has uniquely entrusted to them.
What is The Rescue Project?
Inspired by this response to the life-changing news of the gospel, SLDM is launching The Rescue Project in 2022, a multi-week experience geared at building a culture that shares the heart of the gospel and equips us for mission.
Who is it for?
The Rescue Project is intended for everything from RCIA, men’s and women’s ministries, other parish initiatives and homes. In other words, it is for everyone: people in the pews, the fallen away, and the “nones”.
What is the cost?
FREE! The Rescue Project will be available at no cost to everyone!
